Calvin is a native of Michigan and has been in the Real Estate Industry in one way or another for over 20 years. He attended Western Michigan University. He graduated with in 1995 with a B.B.A. in finance with a real estate emphasis.After graduation, he pursued several different careers. He started as an Assistant Underwriter for what is now Flagstar Bank. Then he became a successful hotel manager and mortgage loan officer. He began appraising in 1997 and fell in love with combination of detailed market analysis and property inspections. He had three excellent mentors that taught him the craft. He became State Licensed in 1999; now State Certified Residential and started his own company in Michigan. In addition, he became a real estate broker in 2003.
After relocating to Georgia in 2005, he started Skylight Evaluations. In 2010, he began working as a Valuations Manager for Southern REO Associates, LLC. They are one of the largest brokerages of bank owned properties in the U.S. He completed residential and commercial valuations for major banks and large asset managers. In addition, he was part of the field management team that maintained an inventory of 200+ properties throughout Metropolitan Atlanta. Clients included: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Chase, Wells Fargo, HUD, Nationstar, Bank of America, HSBC, NRT REOexperts, 24 Asset Management, USRES, Specialized Asset Management, ServiceLink, Old Republic, Green River Capital, Goodman Dean, Capital One, Atlantic Pacific, and BB&T.
He has completed over 8,000 residential appraisals or valuations since 1998. He has also appraised apartment buildings, office buildings, industrial buildings, hotels, and retail complexes. In addition, he has also sold, leased, or managed several hundred single-family residential homes. When not working, he enjoys long hikes, traveling, camping, golf, photography, and making music.
